I am a certified lactation counselor, dedicated doula, and educator with a passion for supporting new and expecting families. I believe that the journey into parenthood is one of the most transformative experiences, and I'm here to offer guidance, education, and a steady source of support every step of the way.
Hi, I’m Reanna Murphy, a proud mother of three and a passionate doula, Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), and educator. My journey into the world of birth, lactation, and family support began with my own experiences as a mother. After a difficult and traumatic birth with my first child, I knew I wanted to help other families navigate their own birth journeys with more confidence and less confusion. My goal has always been to ensure that no family has to feel as uncertain or unsupported as I did during that time.
Before becoming a mother, I spent my childhood and early adulthood as a dancer, where I learned the value of discipline, grace, and self-awareness—qualities I bring into my work with families today. But when I became a mom, I realized how much I needed to learn and how overwhelming it could be to navigate the world of pregnancy, childbirth, and infant care. That’s when I discovered my passion for supporting new families, particularly when it comes to breastfeeding, lactation, bottle feeding, and car seat safety.
I became deeply committed to evidence-based education in these areas, and I found joy in teaching new and expecting parents how to approach these critical aspects of early parenthood with confidence and clarity. Whether it’s guiding families through the intricacies of lactation, offering bottle-feeding tips, or teaching safe sleep and car seat practices, my mission is to provide practical, reliable, and science-backed information to make the journey smoother for families.
As an educator, I believe knowledge is power. I strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment where parents can ask questions, explore their options, and feel empowered in their decisions. My ultimate goal is to help families feel confident and informed, so they can embrace the joy and beauty of parenthood without the overwhelm.
I am deeply committed to helping families navigate the early stages of parenthood with confidence, particularly when it comes to infant feeding, childbirth education, and newborn care. With years of experience and having supported well over 50 families, I specialize in problem-solving infant feeding issues and providing tailored, compassionate care to families during one of the most transformative times in their lives.
I am passionate about supporting families through the challenges of breastfeeding and bottle-feeding. I am dedicated to identifying and addressing the root causes of feeding difficulties, from latch issues to milk supply concerns and beyond. My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and a deep understanding of infant feeding dynamics. I work with families to develop personalized feeding plans that are sustainable, effective, and supportive of their unique needs.
As a childbirth educator, I am committed to providing expecting parents with the knowledge and confidence they need as they prepare for labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery. My classes are designed to empower families with practical information, from birth planning and coping techniques to understanding interventions and navigating the postpartum period.
I guide families through the essential aspects of newborn care, from diapering and sleep routines to understanding infant cues and creating safe spaces for their baby. Additionally, I am deeply invested in supporting families during the postpartum period, recognizing how critical this time is for both physical and emotional healing. My goal is to help parents feel supported, educated, and empowered as they adjust to life with a newborn.
I believe in a collaborative approach to care, which is why I work closely with a network of trusted professionals—including occupational therapists, chiropractors, pelvic floor therapists, labor & delivery nurses, and OB-GYNs—to ensure families receive comprehensive and well-rounded support. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that families have access to the best possible care, whether they need lactation support, physical therapy, or guidance on postpartum recovery.
One of my core strengths is my ability to listen attentively to the concerns and needs of the families I work with. This allows me to quickly assess challenges, identify complications, and develop customized solutions. I understand that every family’s experience is unique, and I take the time to ensure that their voices are heard, and their concerns are addressed.
As part of my commitment to providing the highest level of care, I am currently working towards becoming an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). This certification will further deepen my expertise in lactation support and allow me to offer even more comprehensive services to families facing complex feeding challenges.
I am passionate about continuously expanding my knowledge and skills to best serve the families I work with. Over the years, I have pursued comprehensive training in various areas of birth and infant care, ensuring that I can provide evidence-based, high-quality support to new and expecting parents.
I have received extensive training through ProDoula, where I completed certification in several areas of family support:
I am a Certified Lactation Counselor, trained through the Healthy Children's Project, where I gained comprehensive knowledge in breastfeeding management, common challenges, and solutions to support successful breastfeeding for mothers and infants. This training allows me to assist families with everything from latch issues to concerns about milk supply, ensuring that families receive the support they need for a positive breastfeeding experience.
Additionally, I am trained as a Certified Breastfeeding Specialist through the Lactation Education Network. This certification further enhances my ability to assist families in navigating complex breastfeeding challenges and provides me with the tools to offer specialized lactation support, from newborn feeding through weaning.
